In September 2019, I have taken up work as a Marie Curie Research Fellow at the Institute for Black Atlantic Research. Located at the University of Central Lancashire, I will be working on my new research project. It is titled “Black Inter-American Mobilities and Autobiography in the Age of Revolutions (1760-1860).”
During that time, different types of black-authored autobiography emerged in the Americas. Best-known among them are slave narratives, Indian captivity narratives, spiritual autobiographies, and travelogues. My research explores the ways these texts address transnational black mobility in the region.
My goal is to produce a series of scholarly essays. Later, I will expand them into a book-length study. For more information, check out my project website:BIMAAR
